John Hulse studied art at Boston University and later trained as a metal smith and jeweler at The College of Art and Design in Detroit, Michigan.

Upon moving to Palm Beach in 1980 John quickly established himself as a top flight decorative artist,  sculptor and muralist. For over a decade he was frequently commissioned for a wide variety of art projects in Palm Beach, Newport , Hobe Sound, Boston, Detroit , New York and abroad.

In 1996, after traveling extensively and studying  old master paintings, John returned to Florida and began to paint the detailed and delicately crafted still life images he has become known for.

The glowing, jewel like paintings he produced swiftly became very popular with collectors and have remained in demand ever since. His work continues to gain in popularity, both in the United States and Europe.
